Nicole and Shawn say 'I Do' in NYC

A Winter Wedding to Remember

Weddings are known to be unique events filled with breathtaking moments and unforgettable memories, and this one was no different! I had the unparalleled joy of being part of a truly stunning celebration that will forever dance in my heart. And the best part? It all came to fruition by a referral of a past client!

I first met Nicole and Shawn through Shawn's brother and sister-in-law Melody and Zach because I designed their Save the Dates and day-of items for the incredible Puerto Rico wedding. The biggest compliment I can receive is a referral, and I have just become so smitten working with their entire family!

SAVE THE DATES

We started with their Save the Dates using a photo of Nicole and Shawn, and of course their incredibly handsome dog, Murphy! The wedding color palette included emerald so I used subtle hints of that throughout the design. We made it into a magnet which I love too!

invitations

For the invites, we wanted to keep it classic with intentional modern touches since the wedding was at the spectacular Gotham Hall in NYC. We used felt paper, which has the texture of watercolor paper, and emerald green text and monogram throughout the suite. Everything was tied together with a luxe velvet green ribbon and we had inner and outer envelopes with a NYC skyline envelope liner. Truly all such timeless details!

day-of items

After the invitations were mailed to guests, we got to work on the day-of items. The first item on the list was to paint the dog Murphy because he had to be included on their big day! What's great about adding watercolor pet portraits is that you also receive the original painting so you have artwork for your home after the wedding. We added his portrait to cocktail napkins and matchbooks.

I love matchbooks because one they're so incredibly cute, and two guests also love them! I mean who wouldn't want to use Murphy matchbooks to light their favorite candles?! Another great personal detail we added were handwriting cocktail napkins. Nicole and Shawn love writing notes to each other, so I had each write one and send me the image of it. I then digitized and vectorized it so that we could add the notes to the napkins. So incredibly sweet!!

Escort Display

We then started on the escort card display. The venue has this beautiful table that fits the cards perfectly. We did something a little differently for this wedding - we printed the guest names on the outside of the mini envelopes and inside of the envelope was a business card size card with the table number printed on it. This way if guests didn't show up on the wedding day it was easy to move guests and tables around! We used the same paper as the invites and other pieces so it all looked very cohesive while being functional.

guest seating

Next up were the tables. Guests had assigned seating so we printed the felt menus with green text and monogram with each guest's name printed at the top. I love how elegant everything looks, especially with the gold plates and stunning florals! We designed matching table numbers as well to complete the look.

This wedding was truly one for the books and I'll forever be in love with everything about it! One of the best parts is seeing how genuinely and effortlessly N&S love each other. You can see it in every photo they took, as well as reflected in the faces of their loved ones. They were two of my favorite clients to work with from start to finish and I'm already missing working with them! Designing their thank you cards (of course with Murphy's portrait included) was the last portion of the design process and I'm already trying to think of ways I can work with them again! Wishing you a lifetime of perfect NYC days like this one, Nicole and Shawn!!
